Livingston Parish President Randy Delatte

Randy Delatte

Randy Delatte is a lifelong resident of Livingston Parish.  Raised on a strawberry farm in Maurepas, Randy graduated from Maurepas High School in 1972.  As a youngster, Randy was an accomplished basketball player and also learned the importance of Lake Maurepas, as well as our wetlands and waterways, to the ecosystem of South Louisiana.

Randy's experience in Parish Government goes as far back as 1992, when he served four years on the Livingston Parish Police Jury.  His steadfast leadership and dedication led his fellow jurors to elect him president of the Police Jury for three years of his term.  During that time, the jury president was responsible for all of the same duties and activities that the parish president currently oversees.  Randy was also an active participant in writing the home rule charter and in 1996, Randy was elected to the newly formed parish council.  In fact, he served as chair of the first home rule charter government.

A licensed general contractor, Randy founded R&D Construction Services-a commercial construction company.  R&D built schools, businesses, and churches all over Louisiana.  Randy's experience in the construction industry made him a perfect fit for Livingston Parish Building Official in 2002.  Later, he would serve as Planning Director and Public Works Director in both the Dewey Ratcliff and Mike Grimmer administrations.

Randy took a hiatus from Parish Government and grew his private company, but in 2019 he became concerned about the overwhelming drainage problems plaguing the south part of the parish and decided to run for Parish Council once again.  When Parish President Layton Ricks decided to retire, Randy was encouraged by many citizens to put his years of experience to work for the people as our next Parish President.

Randy is a dedicated husband to his wife, DeeDee, of 20 years and together they have 5 children, 9 grandchildren, and recently experienced the overwhelming joy of meeting their first great grandchild.  Randy and DeeDee are members of St. Stephens Catholic Church.
