Environmental

Livingston Parish works in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health Office of Public Health (LDH/OPH) Environmental Section to provide education, enforcement and resources in response to a wide range of issues which affect the environment, public health, safety and general well being of our parish, including: 

Water Protection
Sample and test public and private water supplies
Sewage Inspections
Inspections and conferences of private, community and non-community sewage systems. 
Building Inspections
Nursing homes, detention facilities, day care centers, funeral homes and clinics. 
Protection of Retail Food and Drugs
Inspections of retail food establishments, public eating places, beverage bars and stands, mobile food vendors and food manufacturing establishments.
Vector Control Programs
Conduct rodent control programs in participating municipalities 
Health Speakers, Films, Pamphlets
Used in schools, day cares, nursing homes and the Council on Aging.
