445 AM CDT FRI MAY 30 2014

...LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL COULD PRODUCE FLOODING TODAY...

.A SLOW MOVING UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM NEAR THE ARKANSAS
AND LOUISIANA BORDER IS EXPECTED TO MOVE SLOWLY SOUTHWEST TODAY
AND TONIGHT BEFORE REACHING SOUTHEAST TEXAS AND WEAKENING ON
SATURDAY. THIS STORM SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO INTERACT WITH DEEP
MOISTURE FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO AND PRODUCE NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS...SOME PRODUCING HEAVY RAINFALL...TODAY. VERY HEAVY
RAINFALL HAS ALREADY OCCURRED ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTH MISSISSIPPI
AND EAST CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA...AND ADDITIONAL HEAVY
RAINFALL MAY CAUSE FLASH FLOODING DUE TO SATURATED GROUNDS.
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER
AMOUNTS 3 TO 5 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON. MOST OF
THE HEAVIER RAINFALL IS NOW EXPECTED TO REMAIN EAST OF BATON
ROUGE...THEREFORE THE WATCH HAS BEEN CANCELLED FROM NEAR BATON
ROUGE WEST TO THE ATCHAFALAYA RIVER.
